Nita Mehta


Nita Mehta is a name extremely popular in the world of cookery. She is not only an acknowledged cookery expert, but also an accomplished author, having written over 100 cookery books. She is a Home Science graduate from Lady Irwin College, Delhi University and a Gold Medallist in M.Sc. (Food & Nutrition).

Her book “Flavours of INDIAN COOKING” won the Best Asian Cookbook Award at the Versailles (Paris) World Cookbook Fair. The book was also commended for Excellence in Book Production by Federation of Indian Publishers. Till now she has written over 150 cookbooks.


Her cookery books started a new trend in cookery books. The novel and simple to understand format became an instant success. In a span of a few years, over 1.5 million Nita Mehta cookbooks have been sold. The secret of Nita Mehta’s success is her thorough and meticulous approach towards her books. Every recipe is tried and tested and explained in a step-by-step format.

She also has her cooking institute – Nita Mehta Culinary Academy in New Delhi where she has trained aspiring individuals to become expert cooks. She has also conducted several cookery demonstrations in various parts of the country and abroad.
